Speaking of a G5, I was looking for one the other day, but all I could find in the store was something called a G7...I may get it instead, is it better than the G5?

Don't get the G7. I have both the G5 and G7, the G7 batteries are weird and sometimes don't charge or recharge as they should. I love my G5 :love2:

G7 is good, though a little overpriced. And I believe it is newer than the G5, plus it's wireless.

Personally I haven't had any problems with it, battery wise, or in any other respect, and I've had it for about a year. If you get it, get the carbon version :D

G7 is just a wireless version of G5,
G5 is the best gaming mouse in my opinion, USHA, dont install the software from CD as they do update it frequently, just go into logitech's website and download the latest set point

I use the G5. And it is a great mouse, even if I miss my MX518.
Over here we have the G5 2007 edition too (two buttons on the side instead of one).
There is even a G9 out now, but I don't think I will switch as it is quite pricey and will probably not 'outsmart' my G5.

The G5 has the same features. The G7 is literally just a wireless G5.
