I'm posting this as a courtesy to anyone that has received e-mail from my Hotmail account in March... My account was briefly hacked (somehow?!?) during that month. It seems my non-secure password from eons ago was just too simple! :o I noticed today that several e-mails, had bounced back and I couldn't figure out how/why they originated back to me. I did notice a few names of people (including admin) here at MoonGamers that were on some of the returned messages. I believe this was because some of you were in my Hotmail address book. If you have any messages that you haven't opened from my hotmail account in March, please DELETE THEM IMMEDIATELY! (If you did open something from me in MARCH, I suggest that you run a MBAM/malware scanning software and update your Anti-virus product and run a scan just to be safe!)

I hope this didn't affect anyone, I think I would have heard about it by now probably. I have since reset the pass on my account to one that is much much more secure. Sorry for any anxiety or hassle this bizarre incident may have caused.

It might not have been that your account was hacked either. It might be that someone else you know that use a email client on their computer, like Outlook, got some malware that read the address book and found your email address, along with others, and it sends out an email as if it came from you and using all of the right protocols that is why some bounced back.

I've had it happen to me and I do use a secure password. I had stuff bouncing back from addresses I had no idea who they were meant to be sent to. I was able to narrow it down to a few people that I knew had that email address of mine, that I don't really use any more, and told them they need to clean their system.

Thank you for the heads up on this Lone-wolf. I had a similar thing happen to me a year or so ago. I only found out I was sending spam e-mails to people courtesy of Snr admin bullet! To this day I still don't know how it happened, but in my case a change of password and not opening any e-mail that safe guard says not to fixed it.
