So I got a new ISP recently which are lightning quick , but have noticed inserver my latency is still bouncing about , using hardlined ethernet always
I believe it's the stupid Compaq Presario network card that was bundled , if I remember how it looks it is just swap from mobo slot and all is well
So which network card on Newegg am I looking for ..? Would wishlist immediately
Cheers all
Latency still spikes a ton .. netcard suggestions ..?

mistamontiel - If you are on a windows machine tracert the path to the server and post it. Please delete the first 6-8 hops that are relative to your IP.

you did it right. The problem is hops 10 11 and 12.
Take those IPs and open a new command module. Ping them EACH in a separate module like this while playing;
ping 64.125.28.103 -t
the -t means infinite
Then while your playing if the game freezes times out disconnects, CLOSE it and look at the cmd module. See if it that hop..

Sorry delayed
I did three cmd.exe as admin with ping 64.125.28.103 -t ping 64.125.30.183 -t ping 64.125.20.234 -t
The first one IP (hop 10) was nothing but "Request timed out" .. I then jumped in the server but no freeze

mistamontiel. Its a log jam in Texas. Unfortunately it is what is unless Moon gets a new server but as you know its tuff to find anyone willing to host a BF1942 game.
Suck it up buttercup and if you are on windows, get his "Process Explorer" from M$ website.
Download - https://technet.micr...ernals/bb896653
Page- https://technet.micr...us/sysinternals
This little bugger lets you see all processes in live time and lets you know what hogging your MEM and CPU.
