I went from a ranking of 3rd and ended up 10th in one outing. What does this prove...I RUSH FORWARD TOO MUCH!

After so many years of rushing up those ramps in BF1942, (a conservative estimate is 25,000 times, quite possibly the only fool to have done so) I can't help myself...I rush forward like an idiot. I need to do what Ryan suggested, DON'T RUSH FORWARD!

I'll give it a go...

No, keep rushing forward! What I have learned in almost all FPS games that I play is that SOMEONE needs to lead the charge! I probably do this more in CS than in DoD (I'm a sniper whore in DOD). While I usually end up with the most deaths in the server, I get plenty of kills to make up for it :)

Well, what are you supposed to do then?
Quick movement to the flags is what usually captures them.
IMO,there are flags on certain maps that you have to rush!

I think that strategy works better with a pretty full server. When
there's only 6 or so total, you can't be attacking and defending.
On the other hand,11 on a side, its very easy to have defenders,
while others are attacking (rushing) the flags :D

Dan,I would venture to say scores suffer the most when there
are just a few of us ingame trying to be offense and defense.

No doubt, I start running when I spawn and usually don't stop til I'm dead. I get way more deaths then I should but as long as I have my trusty BAR I can usually get the kills to make up for them. :)

My score doesn't matter to me in the end, I mentioned it because it does evaluate your game play. I think I need to find a medium where by I still play the game within me but realize at times I need to calm down and think for a moment. I'm like a kid in a candy store, once the game starts it's drop the hammer into 5th and no looking back...perhaps that is why I have so many kills.

Lets just say I need to be more tactical.

Awww...the hell with tactics! MOSH! MOSH! Be the first to the flag...throwing nades and firing through the smoke! That is the shizz of the nit! :) I gotta have the "point." It means so much more than kdr to me. And, I actually think my kdr is getting better...I tweeked my settings and gave up some ambiance, flashlights, and skys but I think it helps with my game play!

MOSH! MOSH! :)

hehe, I love to rush at them flags! I run at them like an idiot, and my KDR is awfully bad because of it. It is just so darned fun. I can't help myself

See ya'll tonight, I'll be the one rushing foward at the flags.

I'm a rusher too. I don't look at things the same as you though. I lead the charge with the full expectation that my team is steps behind me. Often times I'm wrong. Other times not. Do you want to sit back with the squatters or do you want to take another flag and push them back?

Some of the best rounds I've played were full speed ahead from the moment the round starts.

well, Name, if you are going to be a rusher, you must first learn to shoot. :boff:

I started slowing down yesterday and I got up to rank 1, but then I got excited, started rushing and got mowed down constantly...

I don't know Dan. I mean, I hear what you are saying and all. And I do play both styles. Rush in with nades and a tommy gun blazing, only to be cut down by a rifleman at some distance (the wusses), and I still like the MG sitting back, biding my time and waiting for the unsuspecting infantry to meander along, only to get cut in half by a ribbon of tracers.

But, in looking at my best weapon, and such, you can see which method I generally prefer. Mixing it up with other submachine gunners..

I think I have Comet's problem. Except he has his trusty Thompson to save him. I usually run around with the Springfield or Scoped K98...

I <3 the Springfield. It's almost like using a Scout on CSS, only a little slower. (The Scout is the only weapon I use when I play CSS)

I always rush in like a lamb to the mint sauce factory :D
