-Geforce 6800 will be replaced by Geforce 7600GT
-512 MB will be upgraded to 1.5 GB
-Integrated sound will be upgraded to Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
This is all I can afford with 300 dollars, so will it help me much or not?

You could probably run BF2 at very high settings with minimal lag
The ram might be slightly less than needed to load textures and terrain on high, but if he has a fast hard drive the page/swap file wouldn't be too much effected.

See if you can get a lower priced sound card and get 2GB RAM instead. That's my advice.OK, I'm upgrading my computer in a few weeks and I just wanted to make sure this will really help my performance.

i'd agree with that. take care of the sound card at a later date but that 2 gigs of RAM will REALLY help you out. i play with one gig and i'd kill to have 2 gigs lolIn my opinion you should not just add a 1GB stick to 2x256MB, that just doesnt feel right. If you want 2GB you should just use 2x1GB and have them dual channel, if your mobo supports it.

I might do that, but why would it matter if i added 1 gb to 2x256?
Plus i really want the soundcard, I played BF2 at my friends house with audio settings high and it was incredible...
I could add a 1 gb 2x512 couldnt i? would that be better?
crap i just realized i only have a 375 watt power supply and the 7600 gt minimum is 350, will it still be ok?

Easy. I did it without any problems. I'm sure there must be some proper tutorial on it around the net. Have you tried googling it?I suppose i could just skip the sound card and get a power supply. How would I go about installing the power supply?

That's sort of what I did. What I would do is take the old one out of the case removing as few wires as possible, and when you unplug one wire plug the matching wire on the new power supply into where the old one pluged
