What do I need to download to make a PDF file?

I heard of files being zipped?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you create something in Microsoft Word, you can use File→Save As and then under where you name the file there's a drop down menu where you should be able to select PDF.

Make sure you also save it as the original word document too otherwise it can become quite difficult to edit the document again.

I don't have Microsoft Word.

You should be able to do it with most word processing software.  Have you got LibreOffice or OpenOffice?  They're both free versions of Microsoft Office.  The Save As > PDF method above will work the same for these.

 

If not, you should definitely have WordPad (since it installs by default with Windows OS)!  You can then save a WordPad document like normal and then upload your Wordpad file to a site like: https://www.freepdfconvert.com/

 

which will convert your file to a PDF doc.

I've used foxit for years.  Never needed to create a .pdf before, but it allow you to do so.
